Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 June 2026

Historic Rivermill is operated by Colourful.land Pty Ltd (ABN 67 647 427 861) of 950 Beaudesert Nerang Rd, Mount Nathan QLD 4211, Australia. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, bookings and communications, how we use it — including for our email newsletter — and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and send marketing email in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

What we collect

  • Enquiries — your name, email, phone number and message when you use our contact form, call us, or email us.

  • Newsletter — your email address when you subscribe to our newsletter.

  • Bookings — your name and contact details when you book one of our experiences, a cafe table, a wedding, or an event ticket, including any marketing opt-in box you tick when booking.

  • Event and promotion registrations — your name, email, phone or postcode when you register for free entry, an event, a competition or a prize draw, and activity waivers where they include a marketing opt-in.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide the services you’ve booked, including contacting you about your booking.

  • To send you our newsletter and occasional offers by email — only if you have opted in, for example by subscribing to the newsletter or ticking a marketing consent box. Our marketing emails use standard open- and click-tracking so we can tell what’s of interest.

  • To meet legal obligations, such as retaining tax records.

Marketing emails and unsubscribing

Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Using it removes you from our marketing list promptly, and in any case within 5 business days. You can also opt out at any time by emailing historic@rivermill.au. We keep a record of your unsubscribe so we don’t email you again. Unsubscribing from marketing does not affect emails we must send you about an existing booking.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Some pages embed third-party services that may set their own cookies, such as Google Maps and our booking widgets. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers that run our systems, and only so they can provide those services to us:

  • Email and marketing platforms (currently ActiveCampaign and Amazon Web Services, which delivers our email)

  • Our booking and ticketing systems (Rezdy, OpenTable, Sonas, Eventbrite)

  • Payment providers (such as Square)

  • Analytics providers (Google)

Some of these providers store data outside Australia (for example, in the United States). We use reputable providers and take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled securely.

Storage, security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Marketing details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you; booking and enquiry records are kept for as long as we need them to run the business and meet legal obligations. When we no longer need personal information, we delete or de-identify it.

Access, correction and deletion

You can ask us at any time to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email historic@rivermill.au and we’ll respond within a reasonable time.

Questions and complaints

If you have a question or concern about how we’ve handled your information, please contact us first at historic@rivermill.au or +61 7 3703 1307 and we’ll do our best to resolve it. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

We may update this policy from time to time; the latest version will always be on this page.
