Fun, not frightening
A Family-Friendly Halloween on the Gold Coast
The big Halloween nights on the Gold Coast run after dark and are built to scare. Ours happens in daylight and is made for little ones: the thrill of dressing up and saying “trick or treat!”, alpacas and goats to feed, and open lawns to race across in costume. Coming in costs nothing, so it works as a quick stop or a whole day out.
Make a day of it
More to Do on the Day
The rest of the property is open as usual, so trick-or-treating can be the start of a longer visit.
Horse Rides
Short walk-in rides on our gentle horses at weekends, or a longer ride by the river.
Rides and pricesLunch at the Café
Stay for lunch on the deck over the river, or a hot chocolate once the treats are in the bag.

Halloween Questions
Where can kids celebrate Halloween on the Gold Coast?
At Historic Rivermill in Mount Nathan, at the foot of Tamborine Mountain. Entry is free, children in costume can trick or treat at the café, and the animals and the playground are there all day.
Is it free?
Yes. Coming in is free, and so is trick-or-treating at the café for children in costume. Animal feeding, horse rides and food at the café are paid as usual.
Do kids have to wear a costume?
No, everyone is welcome. Trick-or-treating at the café is for children who come dressed up, so it is worth the costume.
Is it scary for little ones?
No. It is a daytime Halloween with costumes, trick-or-treating and animals, and nothing is designed to frighten.
Do we need to book?
No booking is needed to come in or to trick or treat. Just turn up during opening hours.
What if it rains?
Halloween goes ahead rain or shine, and trick-or-treating happens at the Rivermill Café.
Is there parking?
Yes, parking is free on arrival.
